Vacating a verdict/ruling means that the superior court declares the lower court’s ruling to be a nullity – it no longer exists – which means the issue is open again. “Remanding” means sending the case back to the lower court for further proceedings. “Dismissing with prejudice” means the case is dismissed and cannot be refiled.
